Therapy Dog Volunteering Opportunities

If you reside in Southern California and are part of a Therapy Dog Handler Team that is up to date on your credentials, we invite you to join our community and share the incredible gifts of your unique Human Animal Bond. 

Our Therapy Dog Handler Teams play a vital role in making a difference in countless lives by engaging in Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) and sharing their experiences with the public as our Los Angeles Therapy Dogs Ambassadors at Wellness/Education Events. Additionally, teams have the opportunity to mentor new Therapy Dog Handler teams, often being partnered with newcomers on their first visit to a facility. 

We are excited for you to join us in providing comfort to those in need through our volunteer opportunities at some of the most world-renowned facilities, becoming a core part of our community here in the "City of Angels."

Does your dog's friendliness brighten up people's day? Is your dog's calm energy comforting to those around, or possess a special skill? Does your dog keep finding  ways to bring up conversations about "giving back" and the legacy it wants to leave behind?

At Los Angeles Therapy Dogs, we’re always spreading the word about the wellness benefits of volunteering, especially through our Animal Assisted Intervention (AAI) initiatives, and would love for you to join our very special community. Whether it’s to share your love of dogs, or your passion for raising awareness and advocating for Mental Health, we’re excited that you're excited to explore volunteer opportunities with us.

Also as lifelong learners dedicated to everything related to the Human Animal Bond, we're highly interested in Human Animal Interaction (HAI) research as well as expertise in trauma, and we aim to make this information more accessible through our Education Events.
